Cultures throughout the world have communicated and celebrated with rhythm instruments and songs that are shared within community, these cultural practices go back to the beginning of recorded history.
In our Rhythm and Song Circle Class we will participate in creating music in a supportive group environment that includes developing a sense of time and and learning to divide it into rhythm.
Everyone will discover a deeper understanding of the essential elements of music making which include pulse, beat and rhythm and melody. We will learn to keep simple beats on hand drums and other percussion instruments through the practice of learning to listen while applying the fundamental lessons of musical math and practical theory.
As we learn to keep time together we will add simple songs and chants to make a joyful noise while enjoying the company of a fellow group of music makers. All ages and families welcome! See below for family rates.
