John is a native Vancouver Islander and grew up in the Comox Valley. He began playing drums at the age of thirteen, his first band was a family affair with his father called Highway 19. John later went on to tour throughout BC with a rock band called Bug House until he moved to Nanaimo to study Music at Malaspina College. After completing the two year program John moved to Toronto where he toured, performed and recorded with a band named Mysterio. After several years he returned to BC and has since been a freelancer and member of Monkey Wrench which has performed steadily in the Vancouver Island area.
John brings a wealth of experience as an enthusiastic teacher and seasoned performer to students of all ages and levels.
